* Mrs. Donald’s morning classes report to study hall today.

Mr. Jamison’s soils class and FFA soils team will attend an IHCC soil visit today from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM.  Make sure you get your advanced makeup work for the day.

Jrs & Srs. attending the college fair @ Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids today with Mrs. Donald will leave @ 9:00 AM and return approximately noon.

Tonight the Keota Comm. School District will hold a “Tax Impact Informational Meeting”  for the general public @ 6:00 PM in the HS Auditorium.

Student Council members will have their first meeting Thursday starting @ 12:35 PM in the Zoom Rm with Mrs. Donald.

Students who tried out for the fall play “Aladdin”:  Members of the cast are posted on the office counter.  Play rehearsal for “Aladdin” will begin Thursday night at 7:00 PM for the ENTIRE CAST.  The next rehearsal will be on Mon., Sept. 21 and will cover Act I, Scenes 1 & 2 at 7:00 PM.

Friday - No School (PD Day 8AM-Noon)

Saturday is the next ACT Test Day for students who have registered for the September test.

Juniors:  The PSAT Test, which is a practice SAT test, is a 3 hour test that you take during school hours on Oct. 20th.  Please contact Mrs. Donald by Thurs., Sept. 24 if you would like to take the test.  Those who score in the top 2% have a chance at Merit scholarships.  Otherwise it is good practice for the SAT and ACT tests.  See Mrs. Donald with questions. 

School Picture Day for the KCSD is next Tuesday, Sept. 22nd with Halverson Photography.  Students are instructed to remove hats, jackets, and sweatshirts before their picture is taken.  Extra picture envelopes are at the office if needed.  Picture envelopes must be turned into the photographer when you have your picture taken, unless you placed your order on-line.

National Honor Society applications for 10th thru 12th graders are now available.  Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and are on track for earning your Silver Cord are eligible to apply.  On track for Silver Cord means you have earned at least 50 volunteer hours per year beginning with the summer after 8th grade.  Applications will be available on the website or at the front desk.  Completed applications are due to Mrs. Conrad by 3:45 PM next Thursday, September 24th.
