"Homecoming Week"


*     Student Council members are selling homecoming buttons ($1.00 each) during lunch & EA. 


  • Mrs. Conrad’s afternoon classes report to SH today.

Today we will run the following 1:45 early out schedule as the Eagle Olympics competition will begin at 1:50 PM in the high school gym:

All students are dismissed to the HS Gym @ 1:45 for Eagle Olympics.

The following games for the Eagle Olympics will involve the following number of students for each game:

Ball Trolley - 6 people             Donut Eating - 5 people         Mat Sliding - 10 People

Musical Chairs - 4 people          Basketbowl - 6 people        Tug-o-War - Whole class

Hungry Hippos - 3 people              Two-Person Balloon Pop - 2 girls and 2 boys


Homecoming Dance Permission forms are due TODAY if you are bringing an out of school date.  This form must be returned to the office with signatures from your parents and your guest’s school administration.  Your date must be in grades 7-12 (and in good standing), or a past graduate under 21 years of age.


The Large Group Speech “Home Presentations” will be held tonight @ 6:30 PM in the HS auditorium.  It will be a free will donation for admission.  All are welcome to attend.

The District Contest will be held Saturday at Clear Creek-Amana High School (Tiffin).  Speech students report to school Saturday morning no later than 6:00 AM.  Donuts and juice will be provided at school.


Homecoming Sign decorating:  Eagle advisories will make a “Homecoming” sign to be displayed to the public at the homecoming game on Friday, January 24th.  Completed signs are due to the office by 3:15 PM Thursday.


 The Homecoming Pep Rally will take place Thursday @ 2:15 PM in the HS Gym.  Classes will run on a shortened schedule.  The pep band and cheerleaders will be excused at 2:00 to head to the gym and get ready.  Everyone else will be dismissed to the gym at 2:10 PM.


Thursday night at 6:30 PM there will be a "Homecoming Meal" at The Roost for all JH & HS athletes, pep band members, speech students, and coaches.  Parents are welcome to celebrate too.


There is no school Friday for teacher professional development meetings.


The Student Council sponsored “Homecoming Dance” is Friday after the basketball game until 11:30 PM in the JH gym.  Keota students in grades 7-12 along with their guests may attend.  Admission is $5/couple or $3/person.  Student Council members will clean up immediately following the dance.


FYI:  School will now be dismissing at 2:15 PM on Monday, February 3 due to the State Show Choir Competition being held at the Keota Schools that afternoon.


The city of Sigourney is looking for HS students to help coach youth public soccer teams at practices & games.  A sign-up sheet is at the office through mid-February.  Games are played on Saturday mornings during April & May in Sigourney.
