Keota Community School District Names Heather Rosewall as New 7–12 Principal

The Keota Community School District is pleased to announce that Heather Rosewall has been selected as the new 7–12 Principal for Keota Junior-Senior High School. Her appointment follows a thorough interview process held on Tuesday, June 17, and will become official pending board approval and a completed background check.

Mrs. Rosewall brings over a decade of secondary teaching experience and an impressive background in instructional leadership to the Keota district. She has served as a science educator and teacher leader in both Cherokee and Rock Valley Community School Districts, where she held a variety of leadership roles including PLC leader, model teacher, mentor teacher, and professional development coordinator for paraeducators.

Known for her focus on collaboration, student-centered learning, and building positive school culture, Mrs. Rosewall has earned the respect of her colleagues and peers for her innovation and commitment to continuous improvement. She recently completed her Education Specialist degree from the University of Sioux Falls and is eager to bring her enthusiasm and leadership experience to Keota.

Heather Rosewall will officially begin her role on August 1, 2025, and is in the process of relocating to the area. The district looks forward to welcoming her into the Keota community and supporting a smooth leadership transition.
